At Little Daisy Occupational Therapy, we are passionate about working with children and supporting families. We provide therapeutic intervention for children aged 2 to 10 years old on the Mornington Peninsula of Victoria, Australia. We offer therapy in a variety of settings to nurture the needs of children, their families and support the development of lifelong skills.

We can support development in skills and activities such as:

School readiness
Motor development - fine & gross motor skills
Independence in self-care such as toileting, dressing, sleep
Sensory processing
Attention
Emotional regulation

Our Approach

We use a play-based approach in therapy, focusing on your child's interests to promote participation.
Play helps children to express themselves and understand the world around them.

Therapeutic play is an evidence-based and developmental approach to working with young children.
Play simulates early brain development because it stimulates learning, and this enables children to reach their full potential. We are passionate about building strong relationships with the children we work with, and play allows children to feel safe to learn, feel success and ultimately feel confident.

The therapy process is tailored to you!

An individualised assessment is conducted to better understand your child's needs and allows for goals and a therapy plan to be developed. The assessment process may include formal and informal assessments which can be conducted in a variety of settings such as the clinic, home or school.

A written report outlining the findings and results of the assessment can be provided upon request.

This may include:

Parent/carer interview
Child functional assessment
Goal setting and therapy planning

We can provide therapy in a variety of settings which means that intervention can be embedded into daily routines. This can increase opportunities for skill development and improve outcomes. Therapy session length and frequency will be dependent on your child's needs and goals. This will be discussed with your therapist.

Feedback on your child's progress is provided at the conclusion of each session.

Clinic based therapy
School-based therapy (childcare, kindergarten or school)
Home-based therapy

We provide a capacity building model to therapy that enables families and educators to feel more empowered when supporting children. We do this through sharing of knowledge and ideas to support the development of new skills in an effort to strengthen the capacity of both parents and educators.

For families this may look like a one-off session or embedded into ongoing therapy.
